This is Coffee, c. 1961

This short film, made by The Coffee Brewing Institute in 1961, is a nostalgic look at how to make “perfection in a coffee cup.” The Chemex and vacuum pot both make an appearance, along with a professional cupping—complete with a suit and tie.

It’s 12 minutes long, so grab a fresh cup, sit back and enjoy!

Great video here. I cannot believe the Chemex has not changed since it was first introduced. Watching the video it looks so futuristic.

    Good ideas…
Pre-Ground is so so so wrong however.

    Funny to watch!

Very true, but in 1961, pre-ground is a BIG step up from the instant coffee trend that had taken over most kitchens.

Sorry about that. I tried to find it on another video server, but this was the only full version I could find. You’ll have to try again when you get to a computer.
