A Cuppa Day with Mike White

Since the beginning of October, Mike White (one of my favorite coffee persons) has been chronicling his daily coffee experiences on a feed simply titled “My Daily Coffee.” The photos are all simple overhead views of an empty cup, which creates a nice visual collection of vessels contrasted with a great variety of table textures.

Each photo is captioned with a brief description of the experience. The observations drift between flavor notes, environmental observations and customer service. Many of his thoughts are concise enough to be tweeted. Enjoy.

Looks like a clear copycat of Melbourne photographer’s series ” a coffee every day”… acoffeeeveryday.com
If you’re going to copy, at least make it better. This is the poor, poor cousin.

    While they are similar, its far from a “clear copycat.” The only similarity is photos taken from above. I’ve taken the same style photos long before seeing either website—it’s not a ground breaking idea. Coffee Everyday seems to focus more on the quality of the photo (while the drink is still in it) and takes submissions from other people. Mike’s Daily Coffee are all his own photos, are empty cups, and include reviews of the coffee.

    Birds have wings, but I wouldn’t say they copied insects. The universe is built upon coincidences. Either way, thanks for sharing—it’s a nice site as well.
